Booking for the first time can feel a bit overwhelming. You might wonder what the process looks like, how to prepare, or what happens during the session itself. This guide walks you through each step, from the initial contact to receiving your final images, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

Step 1 Reach Out

The first step is simple: lets get in touch! I offer several ways to connect, such as my website contact form, email, or social media messaging. Choose the method that feels easiest for you.

When you reach out, expect to share a few details about the type of session you want. This might be family portraits, engagement photos, personal branding, or something else. You’ll also discuss possible dates and ask any questions you have.

Booking early is a good idea. Most of my clients schedule sessions about a month in advance, but some clients have reserved spots even nine months ahead, especially for special occasions or during busier seasons. Payment isn’t required until the day of the session, which keeps things flexible!

Step 2 Planning Your Session

Once your session is booked, the planning phase begins. This part is where your vision starts to take shape!

If you already have a location in mind, great. If not, I can suggest spots that match the style and mood you want. Whether you prefer a natural outdoor setting, a cozy indoor space, or an urban backdrop, there are plenty of options!

Your session should reflect who you are. Its my goal to capture your personality, your relationships, and your story. This means discussing outfit choices, props, and any special ideas you want to include. For example, if you’re doing a family session, you might want to coordinate colors without matching exactly, or bring meaningful items like a favorite blanket or pet.

Step 3 Getting Ready

As your session date approaches, you might have questions about what to wear, how to prepare, or timing. Don’t hesitate to ask. I can provide tips to help you look and feel your best.

I typically suggest wearing solid colors or choosing outfits that complement the location.

Step 4 The Photography Session

On the day of your session, arrive a little early to settle in and get comfortable. I will guide you through poses and settings, making adjustments as needed to capture natural expressions and moments.

From my perspective, each session is designed to be a unique experience. During our 1-hour session, I will utilize a variety of prompts and poses to create a blend of posed portraits as well as lifestyle shots. The goal is to capture fun photos that truly reflect your personality.

Step 5 After the Session

Once your session ends, I will begin editing your photos. This process can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Editing involves adjusting lighting, color, cropping to enhance the final look while keeping your photos natural, and some retouching for blemishes or distractions.

When your photos are ready, you’ll receive them through a private online gallery.

Step 6 Enjoy and Share Your Photos

Your photos are now ready to be enjoyed. Whether you display them in your home, share them with family and friends, or use them for your business, these images capture a moment in time that you can treasure.

Your privacy is always important to me. I will never share or post your images without your permission. If you choose to allow your photos to be shared, I’m always grateful for the opportunity to showcase your session and celebrate your story with others!

Booking a photography session is a straightforward process designed to celebrate you and your story. From the first message to the final photo, each step is about making you feel comfortable and valued. If you’re thinking about scheduling a session, reach out early, plan with care, and get ready to enjoy a fun and memorable experience. Your photos will be worth every moment!
